# DeSci ecosystem

The DeSci ecosystem is the set of organizations that use DAOs, tokens and on-chain intellectual property to fund and run scientific research. Most are research DAOs focused on one field, such as longevity (VitaDAO), cryopreservation (CryoDAO), hair loss (HairDAO), women's health (AthenaBIO) or psychedelics (PsyDAO), and many hold the rights to the work they fund through the IP-NFT structure Molecule created.

Alongside them sit the platforms the DAOs build on: Molecule for tokenizing research rights, Bio Protocol for incubating and funding new research DAOs, DeSci Labs and ResearchHub for publishing and reviewing research, and Gitcoin's DeSci grants rounds.
